http://www.cornandsoybeandigest.com/tv Tyler Bruch, Global Ag Farms, shows us the latest cleared farmland in his area. Tractors have gone through to clear the cerrado (native prairie), and the roots and leftover brush have been piled up to be picked up by hand or burned. Lime will be applied (possibly twice) and the ground will be disked before any planting is done.

http://www.cornandsoybeandigest.com/tv This is what land looks like in Bahia, Brazil, before it’s turned into crop ground. Tyler Bruch, Global Ag Farms, talks about the trees and brush that have to be removed before they can plant crops. This native prairie is called cerrado, and in parts of Brazil, you must leave 20% of the cerrado when clearing land that will be turned into farmland.
